Old wood cook stove recipes, as good today as it was 100 years ago.
But forgotten by many of todays cooks.
Some of these recipes show the amount of oven backing time. These times were generated by later generations
of family cooks. Great Grandma used experience, a hot oven, and a toothpick to determine when a cake was done on the old wood
cookstove. She pushed a toothpick into the cake when she though it was about done and if it came out clean, (no dough sticking
to it) it was done. If dough stuck to the toothpick, it needed a little longer in the oven.
